Sounds like a great time out there!

You mentioned in your message that you had radio contact with JP on the
beach...

I am curious...

What kind of radio? How much power? What kind of range do you get? What
about the salt water?
Headset or hand held?
I presume in the later case you would have to stop for communications
but not in the former.

I am considering getting a Marine handheld and am interested in
discussions about pros and cons.
