Does anyone know of any data on different brands of booms and
masts, and their durability? I broke both a mast and a boom
out by the channel at 3rd Avenue this season. Both times the
breaks were in unfortunate spots, so I couldn't manage to repair
them on the water, and both times I had to derig and paddle back
for over an hour in a flood tide. And both times the equipment
were less than a year old (but I sail a lot).
Maybe some magazine did a comparison?
Rick.
