My friends who have had it are very happy.
Be sure to get surgery in the off season. My windsurfing buddy got it done
this summer and couldn't windsurf or swim for close to 4 weeks after surgery
due to keeping "pressure off your eyeballs".

I'm thinking hard about it because I kept losing contacts in the rinse cycle
last time I sailed Maui. I talked to Will Harper the day after he had Lasik
and he had nothing but good things to say about it. I coincidently just got
a
package in the mail from a clinic I set up a consultation with. I'm noticing
some info about reduced contrast vision, and night vision being affected.
I'll let you know what I decide once I've gone further through the process.
After talking to will, I was sailing off Point San Quentin and lost a
contact
in OP 4.5 conditions. When I came up on the beach there was a woman walking
her dog. I joked with her that she should keep an eye out because I just
lost
a contact. I then noticed she had the wrap around dark optometrist glasses
on
and she told me she had just done LASIK and was very happy with the result.
She had the same doctor as Will (Mark Mandel @Optima), so it seemed a little
like fate was tring to direct me... or else Mandel has one hell of an active
marketing strategy based on knowing when and where people are losing their
lenses.
