I've been to Kauai last year in January. Sorry to disappoint you: no wind (7
days). There was a gal with a windsurfing equip. trailer renting for beginners.
There was one more ad. about renting but lack of wind discouraged me from trying.
Hiking is _really_ outstanding. I did not feel at a loss...
