I'm sailing on 96 (late year) and 97 Windwind IF's. I'm a big fan. Don't
know how many wash cycles I've gone through on my 4.9 - too many to count -
and it's still holding up.
I've tried a lot of newer sales (Hot, NeilPryde, North, Naish) and still
prefer the IF's for a B&J/Wave sail.
Haven't tried the Ezzy's although I've heard great reviews.
You can get great deals on barely used gear this time of year if you keep
your eyes open.

- Used does not mean "unmodern". There was a big change in most
manufacturers sail designs around '95-'96. Of course further tweaks
are possible with any design, but I'd buy a '96-'97 Windwing IF
without any hesitation. IMHO, you can't beat Windwing in the used
market. Windwings will take a tremendous amount of abuse. I'd
avoid anything older than '95 because it likely won't fit well
to your mast. Many pre-95 sails are designed to fit "flex-top"
masts rather than the Constant Curve masts that are available
today.
- You're right though. August is the time to start shopping for
new stuff.
