I think the other things to add to the list should be to include all the
users who would have their "bay experience" reduced.

This should include Sea Kayakers, fisherman and Boat Sailors who use Coyote
Point and the surrounding areas. Also the scenic atttributes of coyote
point as a park will be impacted.

I think that it will be far harder for the windsurfing community to have an
impact on this project than the drivein project. We have to cast the net as
wide as possible to include as many others as possible.

This is from Jonathan Hahn's scanned in image of the announcement:

The other meetings are from 7:00PM - 9:00PM on:

Tuesday, June 22 at Lucie Stern Community Center,
                      1305 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto
Thursday, June 24 at Marin Civic Center Room 330
3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael
Monday, June 28 at Oakland City Hall, Hearing Room #2
                          1 Frank Ogawa Plaza, Oakland
Tuesday, June 29 at San Francisco City Hall Room 400
1 Dr. Carlton Goodlett Place, SF
Thursday, July 15 at San Mateo City Hall Council Chambers
330 West 20th Avenue, San Mateo

The series of five meetings will cover two subjects.

   1) Presentation by the Airport of a current status report
and schedule for the Runway Reconfiguration Program.
The Airport staff will respond to questions.

   2) Community concerns about the runway reconfiguration and
recommendations from the public about what issues should
be considered in the ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW PROCESS. The
Airport is asking for public input on the scope of the
environmental studies that will be carried out prior to the
Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Public Scoping Meetings
that will be held in August. Although the public is also
invited to the FAA scoping meeting, the Airport will keep a record
of the input from its community meetings as well as other meetings,
and report that to the FAA for their scoping process.

I find this interesting. I think we should give them all of our
issues to be included in the ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW PROCESS. I am going
to make the Palo Alto meeting. Of course a good showing at all of the
meetings will be very helpful. Here is my list of issues:

 1) What impact will the new runways have on windsurfing?
        a) Will they block access to the bay from Embassy and Coyote?
        b) Wind shadows?
 2) What impact will they have on the bay?
        a) silting of the large area due to reduced circulation
        b) will dredging be required to keep access to Coyote Point?

How about adding to the list?

Thanks,
  Michael
