I once built a big warming "oven" with home/kitchen oven heating elements,
theromostat and controls I picked up from an appliance junkyard (on Auzerais
in San Jose by the Orchard Supply). Cost me less than $10. The elements are
soft enough to bend. You'll need to build some kind of enclosure. Bricks or
sheetmetal with insulation. Maybe build a kiln on your garage floor. Also
use a fan to circulate the heat.
