Meaning you wound up downwind of the the pier? Or had to swim under the pier?

Two questions:

Is there a countercurrent here?

Anyone know the depth (at zero tide) just before the channel, where it gets
all frothy? Any sandbar hazards?

Sailed Rio Fri and Sat. 4.6 (140#). Friday 3-4 was my best hour of the year.
