I was interested in this discussion. I've been looking at getting a VHF
radio for sailing at Coyote. I've looked at the Apelco 520 & also the
Uniden HH 940 (http://www.southernboating.com/feb98/workshop.htm). The
latter is cheaper and also claims to be totally submersible, although it is
only 1Watt.
So, I have a couple of questions:
Does anyone have the Uniden HH940? How do you like it?
Do anyone know if a 1 Watt radio would work from the middle of the channel
at Coyote?
