Steve C. called me Saturday night and said a friend of his, with a 50 foot
motorsailor was thinking of trying to organize charters to Point Blunt for
windsurfers. Would I be interested in helping to see if it would work? Sure.
Sunday three of us (Milo came along) each loaded a board, several sails and
related gear. Its a long walk to the boat. We motor over, rig on deck in the
lee of Angle Island, motor to the wind line. Steve goes out on a 4.5, Milo
on a 4.2. Not terribly powered. I rerig my 4.0 and go out on a 4.6 (140#),
8'9" seatrend. Well powered. Steve changes to a 5.0 Nice reaches towards
Treasure Island. Really beautiful setting. The swell builds fast when the
tide changes. A number of sailboats, but nothing like Crissy. Lots of fun.
Its a concept that might work, but a better method for getting back on board
is needed. That boat has a lot of freeboard.
If only we could launch from Treasure Island...
