I was one of those guys out at Davis Pt. yesterday: on a 5.4 and 8'6''
waveboard (175lbs), planing most of the time, but it was fairly holey and
gusty. Water was pretty flat, a big change from nice swells the one other
time I sailed there in better 5.4ish wind. Although Xtide said the ebb
started at 3:45, we all felt like it was still flooding when we got out at
about 4, probably contributed to the lack of swells.

Met Zeev Gur there, he was telling us about some of the great Davis pt.
sessions he's had there recently, too bad we didn't score one of those.

One last thing, the following web page gives hourly Davis Pt. readings:

http://nimbo.wrh.noaa.gov/Monterey/SFODARDC.html

The first two digits in the time column are the date, followed by the time in
Zulu time. I'd say the wind numbers are fairly representative. Figure high
teens to 20 gusting into the low 20's is 5.5ish.

Brad
