So Darin found a 4/3 Wetsuit at the Boardsports Marin sale this
weekend, and now she has another question which she wanted me to ask
in the correct "windsurf-equipment-geek" terms.

Does anyone have recommendations for a light, easy-handling sail, 6.0
or 6.2, for a small woman? Darin found my Delta3 6.5 to be very heavy
(in fact I'd prefer a lighter sail myself). She also tried a 3-cam
6.2 race sail which was much lighter but difficult to handle due to
cams & luff sleeve. She's excited to use a big sail because she can
plane in virtually no wind, but neither of those sails did it for her.
We've been looking at swap meets, but it seems that in the used
market, big gear = race gear.

Another problem she's having is that she's always putting the boom at
the very bottom of the opening, and even then it's sometimes too high
(she's 5'2"). I don't know if there's much she can do about that
except get a custom sail. ($$$)

Any recommendations for Darin? In particular, something that she
might be able to find on the used market?

Thanks all,

--

P.S. What's up with this obsession with race gear? Are windsurfers masochists? Does your average Joe or Jane Sailor really get anything out of that third or fourth cam? :)
