More than a few times I have lost my gear in big surf and strong wind. I
really try to hang on no matter what, but sometimes the waves just take it
away.
Instantly my reflex kicks in now to start swimming as fast as I can and get my
board. A moments delay can cause a critical situation.
If the rig separates, GET THE BOARD!
