Sailed Flying Tigers today on a 8.8 board with a 6.0 sail. Steve (Oyster-Point) was
already on the water when I got there. The first half hour had steady wind perfect for
the sail. Then the sky cleared with the sun shining for the next half hour. Why does
the wind normally pick up when sunshine hits the water (and vice versa) ? Could
have re-rigged down to a 5.0, but I decided to flatten the 6.0 to the max.. At the
end of the session the sky darkened with rain, hail and a beautiful lightning strike
over the San Bruno gap.

The salinity of the water seems closer to fresh water then sea water.

Steve
