I was out at 3rd on Sat. on my 6.0/272 (180#) and had a blast. It
started as sort of lazy sailing (planing, but not what you'd call fast),
but the wind kept building all day and I ended up having a lot of fun.
Sunday got a pretty good blow - I started on my 6.0, but I had to come
in early. People were rigging down all over the place and I guessed I'd
have been on my 5.2 if I'd have stayed out.
Note: I checked the windcall numbers for 3rd on Sat. and it looks like
there was barely any wind there at all. Coyote seemed to reflect some
of the wind build, but I think something happened to windcall at about
4:30. I noticed the numbers cut off at Candlestick, 3rd, Coyote, even
Lake Isabella and Jalama all at the same time - and those were all I
checked. I was out well beyond 6:00 and it was stronger after 4:30 than
before.
