"Big wheel keep on turnin'
Proud Mary keep on burnin'....."

The summer is finally here - deep fog
bank, hot inland, big ebbs.....The sailing
at the delta was awesome. We got there
Saturday night and had a sweet
session even though the ebb was pretty
weak, so the ramps were not the
biggest, but very jumpable. I was nicely
powered on the 4.8/8'5" combo.

Sunday's am the ebb was huge, and
the steady 5.2 wind produced some picture
perfect swells. From about 6:30am until
8 only 3 people made the effort to play in
the perfect conditions. The swells were
coming from a slightly different direction, so you
did not need to head upwind to hit the face.
Some of the jumps were producing
'hospital air' - thank god for brain buckets.
I stopped at 9:45 for some water
and much needed advil.

Even the late risers got some
left overs, as the wind blew all day long. (you
just gotta love those all day blows....) We did
not stick around for the evening ebb

I sailed a total of about 10 hours in 2 days
and never rigged more then two sails or drive
more then 60 miles ;-)

Side note - on one of my jumps in the morning I got all
the components right: a lot of speed, a steep
ramp, good timing, compress the board,
expose the bottom to the wind, and
I started the ascent with a twisted look on
my face............

"Actin' funny, but I don't know why
'Scuse me while I kiss the sky"
