I would suggest all of the above, as most appropriate.
A 9' 10" board at Coyote is BIG, I am 185 lbs and never need
more than a 9' 1". I have picked up three boards at swap meets,
or from friends good enough to want new equipment for about
$200 each, these include epoxy ASD 9' 1" and ASD 8'8" and an
ASD glass B&J 8' 6", so you can upgrade for cheap. Newer,
though not necessarily the latest kit will help your progress.
In the Bay, wave sails are fine with Race only really useful
for 5.5 or higher, at 145 lbs this would be on really off days.
Wave sails tend to be less expensive also.
ABK camps are incredible for the instruction they give, and the
technical jargon back up. The instructors are really good both
as sailors and as teachers and also a lot of fun. New baby and
travel plans are denying me the opp to return this year as I
had hoped.
