This may be of little help, but in the UK you can get Sunshine helmets which are
fully adjustable to the most oddball shape head, and have a full grill in front
of the face. I have a dumbo ear affliction and I still found this helmet
comfortable. The other problem I have found with the helmets I have owned
previously is that they push into your temples really hard. It makes a change
from getting a headache from the cold (UK sailing!)

**Anybody have recommendations for 2pc Carbon Wave/Slalom masts and solid
highwind booms, as a lot of the kit you have here is different to the UK?
