i'm sort of in the same boat (so to speak) -- beginner, sailed some last
summer, waterstarts are still pretty shaky. i was thinking of going up
to sherman island for a weekend to sail, and i'm wondering about a few
things: 1) how cold is the water? i only have a 3/2 long legs, short
sleeve wetsuit. 2) i have a very floaty longboard -- 330cm o'brien (not
sure how much it weighs but it's heavy) -- is that appropriate for sailing
there? i've had trouble getting through the chop in the cove north of
coyote point with it. any advice? would candlestick point be any better? (it's
certainly closer to where i live, but i'm sure the water is a lot colder).

thanks,

sasha m.

p.s. i'm 165# and i have one sail, a 5.6.
