Drove by Coyote around 12:00 and could already see the whitecaps. Did
not hit the water until 5:00. Traffic coming down the city was aweful.
Rigged 3.5/8.2 (150#). That 4 times in a row for the season. No
complaints. Headed straight for the channel. Beautiful swell although
it must have been better earlier on since this was the end of the
tide. Huge areas of nice glassy water between swells. Big air although
the wind was quite gusty and it was tricky to really go for it.
Sometimes the gusts were such that all you had to do was show up at
the top of the lip and the wind would lift your up without permission.
You could surf these big rollers in both directions. Not much of a
wave sailor myself but this was fun. Stayed in the channel until about
7:15. Only two other guys out there...
