I went there a few weeks ago.

The campsite on the beach is OK for sailing, but windy (Huh ?). There is
another campsite on the west side of the bay which might be more protected as
far as tents are concerned (I will try it next time).

Beginner sailors will launch on the bay, advanced sailors on either side (bay
or sea) depending on what they like.

The west side camping has a launch on the bay only, you then have to sail
downwind to the sea. Forget about sailing back upwind at low tide from the
sea, but you can use your car on the road along the west side to bring back
the gear.

Bay sailing is affected by the tides, at low tide you are restricted to the
channel or deepened areas around the harbors, this gives you 500' reaches.

Weather gods say that may is usually good up there.
