Sailed from 1:30-4:30 powered to scared sh*tless o.p. on 3.6/8'3" gorge
animal. Wind was cycling up and down and had to be gusting in the mid 40's in
the up cycles. Swells were big -- Big air to be had by all!
In response to S. York: the air temperature was not too cold and the water was
pretty typical for chrissy (colder than 3rd or coyote). Most people do not
wear hoods, and a lot of us also do not wear booties. If your head does get
cold on big days like this, a helmet works great for retaining some warmth
(and brains)
First hand reports said Rio blew all day with swells to 5' during the morning
ebb. Most everyone was sailing sub 4.0 for the a.m. session.
