Subject: Re: Hood River property investors

Al,

I'm willing to share my experience- I own a house in Hood River that I
lived in from 88-91 then turned into a weekly rental for 2 years. It's now
a long term rental due to the frustration of trying to keep it a weekly.
The bottom line is this: There isn't a competent weekly property manager in
Hood River anymore. We used Mid-Columbia Property Management (and I hear
they are the only one left) and they were horrible. EVERY renter we had
experienced problems- including my wife and I both years during our annual
vacation in July. Also, we had vacancies when the town was scrambling to
find something to cover the demand.

As far a a long term rental, there is someone with a good reputation- Rex
Watkins at Northwest Investment Management (541-386-3770).

I would be happy to discuss any questions you may have. You can reach me at
