Subject: Re: Cellphones and VHF

If the waterproof bag works well enough to carry in a Gorge Gear vest without
any other protection, why not put a cell phone inside one?

Did anyone get a chance to try a waterproof cell phone bag last summer?

Cell phones have certain advantages: cheaper, esp. if you own one; no
license; you can call someone else besides the Coast Guard, so you don't have
to wait till it's an emergency; and you can order out for pizza.
