Just read the latest SFBA newsletter where the idea of making the upwind ramp at
3rd Ave operational was discussed. This would be a good way to relieve ramp
traffic congestion from the main ramp.
Actions required/desired to make this ramp more useful:
1. Sandbagging at the base of the ramp.
2. Removal of any hazardous metal junk from the mud near the bottom of the ramp.
3. Extending the gravel rigging area further so that it is nearer to this ramp.
4. Removal of slippery algae at the base of the ramp.
Given the fact that it's already the end of August and that the usage of the 3rd
Ave site will most likely start to decline as we approach the last third of the
season, we can probably put this off until next spring.
