Hi,
On Sunday at Crissy, I had the unfortunate experience of getting sand
in my mast sleeve. I realized this when my cambers had trouble
rotating. By the time I fixed the problem, the little pebbles
had torn a few holes in the sleeve.
I suspect that this happened when I left my sail on the sand
next to the water (a passer-by was holding it there) while
I went to my car to get a smaller board.
It was absolute hell trying to get the sand out of the sleeve.
I used a fawcet on the east side of the east-most building,
but, without a hose, it was a bit difficult.
It took me over an hour to derig, try to clean and rig again.
I would recommend never leaving your rig on the beach.
Has anybody else ever experienced this?
Any creative ways on getting rid of the sand?
By the way, Crissy blew Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with
up and down winds, clear skies (6.0, Sputnik 285, 200#).
