I got out to Waddell a little past 1 pm, it was sunny with sandblast
conditions on the beach. I was overpowered on a 4.7 (8'5" ASD wave, 170
lbs). The swell was pretty good - I saw some people carving faces with the
wave visible above their heads and below their feet ( maybe 8 - 9 foot faces
?). I always have a hard time estimating wave size - they look bigger when
you're trying to get out through the break. After an hour, I couldn't hang
on any longer, rather than re-rigging to 4.2, I wimped out and drove over
the hill to 3rd, got a nice 4.7 session in the channel for an hour or so.
