Hey everyone, take a look at the detailed depth chart of the Third
Avenue sailing area on Jack's home page, at:

        http://www.crc.ricoh.com:80/~jackg/3rd.jpeg

Several points of note:

- There is a clear marker of submerged pilings just south of the main
buoy. Has anyone ever encountered it/them at low tide? It barely
shows up on the chart, but look about 1/2" southeast of buoy 8A after
blowing up the JPEG image to full size.

- Check out how many submerged sandbars there are just south of the
buoy. It's a minefield out there! In low tides, stay north of the buoy,
or if you are south of the buoy make sure you are in the channel and
work your way upwind before heading out of the channel toward shore.

- What are those giant circles to the right of the center of the
shipping lane, marked 139-through-147?

Jack, this is an absolutely awesome map. Where did you obtain this?
Are there others like it for other sailing sites?
