It might be in a huge wind shadow unless you go out a few miles. I do
remember ending the 17 mile drive one day and looking down at Carmel
bay from Carmel. There were dolphins jumping across the shoreline. A
whale was visible in the distance. And sea lions were playing in the
surf. It was like some sort of surrealistic nature painting.
