I cut out after lunch and went sailing at Crown Sterling today.
I hit the water at 1:50. I slowed down and walked over the sand bar.
It was about 1.5 ft deep at that time. I sailed with a 5.4 on a
8'6" board until 3:30. The wind went from 4.8 to 6.6 then back to 4.3
conditions. It was not gusty. There was just different wind in
different locations. I thought I was going to have to swim home at around
2:30 when I was down wind of Oyster Point. Usually it is very windy in
that location. I got closer to shore and found a patch of 5.4 wind
and then by the runway I found 4.3 wind. I walked over the sand bar
at about 3:20 and it was at 6" to 0" and much longer than last year.
It was still blowing hard when I left at 4:00. I think Ken's low
tide at 3:55 was just about right.
